A new DAVRiF seminar is coming up as IOM Helsinki arranges seminar for embassies. The seminar will be held in Helsinki 24 November 2011. In the seminar, among others, information about projects results so far will be provided. The seminar presentation will also cover assisted voluntary returns of victims of trafficking and co-operation with different partners. IOM Helsinki arranges an evening seminar for associations in Finland at the International Cultural Centre Caisa on 15.6.2011. The seminar presents IOM’s ongoing projects and aims to promote dialogue between associations that represent or work with migrants. The programme (in Finnish) can be downloaded from here.

23 March 2011: New e-forms and new languages available
IOM has now launched new forms that can be filled in electronically on the website. Please note that the forms shall be signed by the returnee before delivering to IOM. In addition The general information is available now also in Lingala and Turkish. Languages can be found here.
28 February 2011: IOM Arranges more than 300 Voluntary Returns of non-EU Nationals from Finland
During the first 14 months of the project "Developing Assisted Voluntary Return in Finland," IOM Helsinki has arranged the voluntary return of more than 300 persons to countries outside the European Union. This is a remarkable result compared to the average yearly voluntary return of non-EU nationals in previous years. From 2005 to 2009, before the launch of the project, approximately 45 persons returned voluntarily each year. Read the press release (Finnish).
2 February 2011: Launch of project graphic profile and web pages
In the seminar "Developing Assisted Voluntary Return in Finland - results and prospects," arranged at the premises of the Finnish Immigration Service in Helsinki, IOM launched the new graphic profile of the project. The graphic profile with the green bird has also been used throughout the project website on www.assistedvoluntaryreturn.fi that was launched at the same time. The website contains easily accessible information on assisted voluntary return in English, Finnish, and a number of other languages.
2 February 2011: Seminar: Developing Assisted Voluntary Return in Finland - results and prospects"
On 2 February 2011, IOM Helsinki and the Finnish Immigration Service arranged the seminar "Developing Assisted Voluntary Return in Finland - results and prospects" at Panimokatu 2A in Kalasatama, Helsinki. The seminar was well attended with almost 60 participants from various parts of Finland as well as Sweden and Norway.
