The process

How to apply for voluntary return?

  • Fill in the IOM Assisted Voluntary Return application AND the IOM application form for reintegration support.
  • Send your application forms to IOM Helsinki directly or with the help of your social worker or the police.
  • IOM Helsinki will process your application and let you know if you are eligible to return under the programme AND if you can receive a reintegration cash grant.
  • IOM will make your travel arrangements and assist you in getting a travel document if you do not already have one.
  • IOM will inform you directly of your travel arrangements or through your social worker or the police.
