Check list:

Below you will find a list of things to take into consideration when you are thinking about voluntary return or have already decided to return. 

Application

Have you:

  • Discussed your return with somebody else, as for example your social worker, laywer or your friends and family?
  • Filled in the two IOM application forms (AVR and Reintegration forms)?
  • Given copies of your travel documentation to IOM? (if you have any)
  • Presented any national IDs such as your driver's license or birth certificate to IOM? (if you have any)
  • Cancelled your asylum process if it is still ongoing?

Travel

Have you:

  • Checked the allowed weight for luggage? IOM sends you this information together with your travel details
  • Made sure that you have no forbidden items in your hand luggage?
  • Received any needed bus or train tickets from IOM for your travel to Helsinki Airport? If not, maybe your social worker has received them?
  • Received and noted down the phone number of the IOM staff meeeting you at the airport?
  • Given your own phone number to IOM?
  • Been given an IOM plastic bag alrady?
